Word Cafe 2017 Writing Competition

Student Categories

Years 0 to 3: Maximum 250 words. Prize $20 + books.
Years 4 to 7: Maximum 500 words. Prize $20 + books.
Years 8 to 10: Maximum 750 words. Prize $50 + books.
Years 11 to 13: Maximum 1000 words. Prize $50 + books.

Adult Category

Maximum 1000 words. Prize $100 + books.

Submission Guidelines

• Entries can be a poem, short story or illustrated writing.
• Please put your entry category in the subject line e.g. ‘Student Year 11-13.’
• Entries can be submitted in hard copy (handwritten or typed) at Raglan District Library, or by email to competition@wordcaferaglan.co.nz.
• Student entries must be approved by a teacher from your school.
• In order for adults to be eligible to enter the writing competition, you must purchase a weekend ticket to the festival.

Important Dates

Closing date for entries has been extended to: Friday 23 June 2017 at 5pm (previously Friday 2 June).
The overall winners for each category will be announced on Sunday 2 July 2017 at Word Cafe Raglan.
